Surrender Monkeys: who we are?


Surrender Monkeys are an alternative band from the south of England. They were formed in 2002 after many dalliances in other musical outfits. Over the last few years the band have produced several 'albums' worth of material, much of which are available for download here.

The band are influenced by a variety of other musicians including Grandaddy, Pavement, The Smiths and The Mountain Goats (despite the fact that so far the band have failed to sound like any of these influences). As with previous incarnations of the band, the song writing focuses on simple story telling in a pop format with an alternative twist.

Surrender Monkeys have produced two albums - 2003's 'Secondary English' and 2005's 'Go Tune'. The band are currently working on two projects at the same time - 'Manatee' (due for completion at the end of 2007) and 'Blackout' (due for completion at the end of 2008).
